Starting the Spring of 2011 Piñon Hills Elementary School will be

undergoing major renovations.  We will be adding a whole new wing to the school

as well as reconfiguring some parts of the existing building and grounds.

We will be posting the most current information about

the construction plans and progress on this site as it becomes available.

By keeping everyone informed about the construction process we are

hoping to minimize the impact on our students and community.

January 2012

Through much hard work and good luck with the weather our new building is complete!

We are now waiting for the furniture to be delivered before completelymoving in.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony is

Monday, January 30 @ 3:30.

Please join us for this special celebration!!

November 2011

Progress pictures continue to be available on our Facebook Page.  The courtyard between the addition and the library and the south side of the building have been landscaped; the windows and connections to the existing building have been installed; sheet rock is up in the classrooms and the bathrooms have been tiled.  Rumor is that we will be able to move in sometime in January!!  Keep checking back for updates...

September 2011

The crews have been working hard on our new building.  The blocks are going up on the walls and the addition is almost attached to our K and C halls.  Watch for the doors and windows coming soon.   Corp Construction has taken some wonderful pictures (July, September) of the project and Mrs. Cronin is posting her pictures of the project on our Facebook Page

February 2011

**On the 8th the School Board approved phase 1 of our project which allows

the process to continue.  The next phase will be

Design Development and Construction Documents.

**On February 22 there was an open meeting at DHS in the commons

to go over the design specifics of the Piñon Hills renovation .

A few adjustments were made to the plans as a result of input from PHES Staff.

**We are now in the process of finalizing the plans and obtaining all the permits

necessary for construction. We are on track to begin construction

as soon as school is dismissed in June.

January 2011

With lots of hard work from the architects and district office, much staff and community input,

we have selected plans for the new addition!! Here are the architect's drawings

The plans will now go before the School Board for review and approval.

If you were unable to make it to our community input meeting

Mr. Van Pelt filmed it. Here is a link to the meeting video .
