Curriculum and Special Programs

Our school uses Balanced Literacy to teach reading and language arts. This program consists of several components including: read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, independent reading, directed reading/book clubs, interactive writing, interactive editing, directed writing/writer's workshop, and independent writing. Our math program includes Houghton Mifflin materials, Investigations materials, Marcy Cook mental math activities, lots of data analysis and problem solving. Our teachers use the best resources to teach the content that needs to be taught.
