Curriculum and Special Programs

We have critical content from kindergarten through sixth grade in the areas of reading, language arts, and math. Click here for the link to critical content.

Our school uses Balanced Literacy to teach reading and language arts. This program consists of several components including: read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, independent reading, directed reading/book clubs, interactive writing, interactive editing, directed writing/writer's workshop, and independent writing. The strategies we use are from the CELL/EXLL program. You can find out more information by clicking on the CELL/EXLL link on the left-hand side of this page.

Our math program includes Houghton Mifflin materials, Investigations materials, Marcy Cook mental math activities, lots of data analysis and problem solving. Our teachers use the best resources to teach the content that needs to be taught.
